Currently this is a two-step process, but there is a setting you need to turn on in order to allow Trade-In payments.

 

Allow Trade-In Payments:

Under the Tools menu > Options > Business Defaults tab you will see a Payment Type checkbox for Trade-In. Make sure this box is checked.

 

To take a trade-in during a sale:

  1. A trade-in is simply a payment option in CashFootprint.  Determine the value of the item being traded and add a Trade-In payment to the current sale (Other payments > Trade-In).
  2. You will then process the sale.  Once the sale has been processed, you will need to manually go into inventory and adjust the quantity for that item or do an inventory receiving to add the item into the system.
